question for those running LTs and a Y pipe

I just finished fabbing up a 3in y pipe setup for my hooker long tubes and I am concerned about the exhaust flexing when the engine revs or is under severe load. My y pipe looks kinda like the Mufflex pipe and it merges into a flowmaster y collector which connects to my exsisting cat back pipe. Eveything is secured with 3 bolt flange connectors, I did this so that it will be easy to remove in the future. but anyway, have any of you guys had any problems with the exhaust pipes cracking or breaking the bolts on the connectors from the engine wanting to rotate when its under load. I am running poly engine mounts as well as a poly tranny mount. It just seems that the entire exhaust is tight and there is no room for flex. I chose not to use those flex pipes due to bad write ups on them.

also, one other thing, I have the end of the flowmaster y collector about 1/2" below the driveshaft. This is with the car resting at normal ride height. Is that too close, How much will that driveshaft move down while driving?

If you have poly motor mounts, there should be very little to no flexing of the motor at all. I have the lts with the mufflex y and poly mounts and have had no problems at all. As for the driveshaft hitting, I wouldn't worry about it rubbing unless you completely unload the suspension while driving. If you go Dukes of Hazard with it you might have a problem. You should have enough clearance because the suspension will compress more than rebound.

sounds good. thats what I figured but I just wanted to ask to be sure. As for that dukes of Hazzard deal, if I did that, I think I will end up with bigger problems then the driveshaft hitting the exhaust
