Need to know if other Y pipes will work with Edelbrock headers?
I picked up a set of edelbrock Tri-Tech coated headers off Ebay real cheap. I have seen the Y pipe that Edelbrock makes for our cars and I must say it is a piece of shiet!!!
I would like to know if any other manufacturers Y pipes will fit with the edelbrock headers? I have a dual cat setup know that I would like to keep that way but i am not super opposed to running a single cat. I have not seen the dual cat pipe from Edelbrock though. I am wondering what needs to be welded on that one? Hooker makes a nice Y but I don't know if it will fit? If all else fails I'll try to reuse my factory Y but thats not my best bet.
I have heard of other having custom Ys made but i have yet to find a muffler shop that is concerned about fit, finish and flow.

Its my understanding each company's headers are their own, and nothing is compatible with each other. You cannot use your stock y-pipe with headers, either. You're going to have to keep searching for a muffler shop to build you a custom mandrel-bent y-pipe. And keep it dual cat, it is worth it.
