02 sensor
This may sound stupid but I have a S-10 v8 conversion with an engine and trans from a 88 trans-am gta and I need to know if it came with one or two o2 sensors or if I can run one or two?
I have a painless wiring harness on order and Im not sure if it has the wires for two or one 02 sensor.
I dont know this because the stock manifolds only the drivers side had a provision for an 02 sensor and not the passengers? is the passengers down route and on the down pipe
I can not run a y pipe becase I have a true dual setup with no cats and no room to boot
I would assume that the ecm would need two readings to properly measure the engine
so if I had a crappy injector on the passenger side and I was running lean how could the ecm tell if there were no readings for the passengers side?

The '88 had one O2 sensor on the driver's side only. It is a single wire unit. Unless you are going to use something other than a 1227165 ecm, you will only need one O2 sensor. Are you planning to use headers? If so will the be short or long? If you will be using any type of exhaust that moves the O2 sensor more than 6 inches further from the exhaust ports, you should consider using a heated O2 sensor. The single wire O2 sensor requires the heat of the exhaust to operate properly. If you're interested in using a heated sensor, try this link https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/exha...en-sensor.html
