longtubes with lowering springs??
ive searched and searched i havent found much info or pics. i have intrax 2" drop springs, it sits pretty low, right now i have edlebrock tes headers and y-pipe and the ground clearance is ok i dont scrape on speed bumps or anything. im trying to find out from the people that have done it on their lowered cars some info on the subject. i want the longtubes b/c im wanting to run dual exhaust on my car, i think if i run oval pipes and it will be ok but i would like to have some personal opinions from expirience. ill make a drawing of how i want to run it and let me know what you guys think. i have a dual in dual out muffler picked out so that should help with the clearance some. i have been considering this muffler for awhile a friend of mine mw66nova mentioned it to me and that is kinda what i am wanting. it is a dynomax dual in dual out and the inside is an x-pipe, so i think it would be pretty cool but idk how it would sound.

here is how i want to run the piping. lol i know this drawing looks like crap but it shows what i am thinking. has anyone done anything similar to this or know how the clearance would be?

my main concern is the longtubes and the pipes just after the collectors so if anyone can help me out with their expirience ideas on how to make it work.

Why do you want to run dual exhaust? I see no need for it performance wise with basic bolt ons. If its just for the sound then you will need 2 mufflers, not the setup you have in the pic. Also, I know that pic is a basic design but you must take into effect that you cannot just run a pipe at a 90 degree angle. you have 2 in the drawing and there both on left bank of the engine. There will be more backpressure on that side of the engine. Have you figured out where you plan on making that pipe cross over after the transmission? I dont want to sound like I am steering you away from this but I think your about to spend a lot of money on something that isnt going to be worth it for you. have you priced out some oval tubing lately?
Also, getting back to the LTs and lowering springs. that is just something that your gonna have to try out and see how well it works for you. if your roads are bad where you live then you might want to rethink it. or just be like me and sat screw it, Im doing the LTs anyway and I will deal with it when it happens
I havent driven my car yet with my LTs so I cant really comment.

also, that muffler is NOT going to fit under your car where you plan on putting it w/o some serious loss of ground clearance. Do you plan on putting it right in front of the passenger control arm mount? That muffler has to be at least 4" thick. you figure you got that 4" for the muffler and at least 1" of clearance under the floor of the car and your talking about 5-6" of loss right there. Go get a tape measure and measure down 6" from there and see what you have left for ground clearance. Plus, your see this massive steel muffler right there when you look at your car from that side. Kinda tacky if you ask me. Personally, if your sick of the way your car sounds and your in the mood for something different then get some LTs and make a custom crossmember or get the aftermarket one and a Mufflex ypipe and run a regular 3 or even 4" cat back with maybe a spin tech muffler.

I havent driven my car yet with my LTs so I cant really comment.yes i know i cant run a pipe at a 90 degree but i couldnt make a bend in paint. we have duals on all of our cars and i lover the way it sounds and my flowmaster has a tone in somewhere inbetween 2000 to 2500 rpm that gets on my nerves. from what everyone says the lt's help out a ton which is why i was leaning towards them and duals. what i am really wanting is the true dual loudness and tone but it sounds like im not going to be able to do it w/ o alot of work and modification and i guess after thinking about it somemore after all the work and time i would put into it i think it will still hang down more than i want it too, so i guess i will just stick with what i have and maybe change to a different muffler.

i had bad luck with my lt's they did'nt fit on the passanger side. defective header maybe i don't know, but i feel that shorties arent much of a sacrafice. i would recommend shorties. believe me i was gonna do the same thing but just ended up running stock route shorties and a custom bent pipes and a flowmaster 80 series gutted cat and i'm pleased, never scraped either.
