fighting your exhaust
I ordered some hooker 2055s the other day to replace my manifolds and y pipe, as the flange had been busted off, and took it in today to get put on. Now if it wasnt my daily driver, I wouldnt have worried about it, but the local PD "advised" that I get my exhaust fixed. So it went in to a local shop for the install this morning and has fought every step of the way. When I talked to the around 5:30 they had a bolt that was broken off in the head, and the tube for my dipstick was rusted enough that it fell apart when they took it off. Anyone have any worse exhaust installs?

Paying someone to cause and fix those problems is about as bad as it gets.

My exhasut was kind of a pain to put on too. Did it on the ground with 2 floorjacks 4 jackstands and 8 pieces of 2x4. The I pipe was the worst, getting it over the dif....the rest wanst as bad as it was stock and pretty corroded especially the tailpipes and muffler, they just pretty much fell apart with enough force...lol..it still took me a few hours to accomplish.

yeah i got one for ya. i was moving to another garage closer to home a few years ago, about the time i just bought my current iroc. i asked my mom's friend, who was a supervisor at a local shop, to have his guys finish my exhaust for me and put on my new lca's and panhard bar. I needed to get all my tools and equip. over to the new garage and didn't have time to do everything. well $1,000 later, they cracked my y-pipe, burnt my ads chip (didn't properly remove ground) when they welded my y-pipe back together, chop shopped my intermediate pipe and just tightened the bolts on my brand new flowmaster cat back exhaust. I needed new trans cooler lines too, which they ran about 1/4" from my y-pipe. When I picked the car up and got home, i found out the hard way that they screwed up my ignition and the key would not come out, trans would not go in park ( they knocked the shifter cable out of alignment), exhaust fell off (brand new stainless tips gouged on the street) and my fuel ran so rich my brand new high flow cat started to glow. When I crawled under to see why my cat was glowing, I noticed my rocker g/fx were cracked because they improperly lifted the car. Needless to say, I don't deal with them and I had to report them to the BBB to even get them to do something. Bamberger's in Lebanon, PA - STAY AWAY from these *******s!
