I have one in my trans am. Its been in about three years. Has a nice sound to it. My only complant is that the pipe that ataches to the cat and the pipe that goes over the axel would not fit together untill i sanded a lot on the outside of the pipe that went on the inside. Also no matter how much i tightened up the clamps everything would not snug up so i went to my neighborhood muffeler shop and had it all welded up. I would highly recommend doing that.

Re: Edelbrock cat back???

It sounds AWESOME...I did get the new one with the SDT muffler....It took me by suprise, because my car was SO quiet for so many years...At first I thought it was too loud, but now I love it...When you are cruising it purrs like a kitten, when you get on it, it roars like a lion....I have no cat, so that makes it a bit louder...I do have the Edelbrock TES System, but it is not on the car...I got the one for the TPI motor, so it is the full 3 inch setup...Im sure it will sound even better then...I mostly like Edelbrocks stuff...Have used alot of it over the years..I would recommend this setup to anyone...I was glad I got the "NEW" system, as I had heard the older ones were not quite as good.....Tom

I'd choose different headers. I had the exact same setup you're working on in my old car... the y-pipe was so freaking low. It would scrape all the damn time. This was with stock suspension... it hung so low that lower the car was not an option.

I'm probably reusing the catback on that car, but those headers are getting trashed.
