Exhaust modification for Energy Suspension motor mounts

Hi guys. I just want to let people know if they are planning on installing Energy Suspension or any poly motor mounts on a Camaro with a dual cat exhaust set up, exhaust modification is required. The thickness of the new motor mounts raised the exhaust half an inch causing the stock outside pipe to hit up against the passenger side subframe connector. It would rattle when shifting in reverse or in drive. So what had to be done is cut off a section of pipe from where it begins to turn towards the s.f.c. beneath the floor pan all the way to the connection made at the catalytic converter. These are the pictures of this exhaust modification. I do suggest having mandrel bent pipe rather press bent because the front of exhaust pipe wasn't welded properly and the other side of the pipe looks wrinkled(severe creases). I can hear a huge exhaust leak, coming as a result of this work which will be corrected as soon as possible. I just want to let people know out there what might happen when this is done. Thanks.

Looks more like you had your exhaust installed with the worn out and sagging stock rubber mounts. This shouldnt be an issue if they are not in need of replacement

I installed Spohn subframe connectors and Hooker 2055HKR's with the 305 and stock rubber mounts. When I put in the 350, I went with poly mount inserts (forget the brand, I believe they were ES). When I went to reinstall the exhaust, the y-pipe hit the corner of the SFC - wasn't even close before. I had to cut & box the SFC to get the needed clearance. I posted pics somewhere on the board (Engine Swap, I think).

I'm convinced most aftermarket designs were mocked up using cars with sagging stock rubber mounts.
