My Exhaust Idea...Need Some Help

I've been toying with the idea of doing a full exhaust on my car this summer. Now for various reasons I wouldn't be putting headers on the car, but actually L98/G92 manifolds on the car, followed by a corresponding y-pipe, hi flow cat, and 3" catback with turndowns. Yes, i am fully aware of the fact that putting the larger manifolds/y-pipe on wont yield as much power as headers but I desperately want to keep a 100% stock look. I was also thinking abotu getting the manifolds coated to reduce underhood temps.

My main question is, what to do about the y-pipe? I know of a few guys on the boards who have the manifolds i need, but no one really has one of the corresonding y-pipes. Is there any place that sells NOS, or replica factory y-pipes, or a place that would have them? I know that somewhere someone sgotta sell em because im sure y-pipe's rot out alot and need to be replaced.

Again, I'm open to suggestions but I think that if im going to end up doing a full exhaust in the near future, it would be a bigger manifolds/ypipe/hi flow cat/3' catback kinda setup.

Not really....the factory y pipes were stainless and lasted about 10-15 years before the seam would split. The replacement cost for THAT pipe at the dealer is why they aren't offered anymore. No one wanted to pay that kind of money so they would just opt for the aftermarket aluminized piece. You can have one fabricated, but you need to find someone who takes pride in his work to fab you up a nice piece....not a POS. Remember though....you get what you pay for...if you find someone with the skills willing to take the time to fab you up a nice, hi flowing piece....it won't be cheap. You could also buy one of the hi flo aftermaket y"s and modify it to fit.

Hey Adam, honestly to do all that work to get the stock manifolds off your really not gonna want to put something stock back on for such little gain. I just got done and its a pain. Also if you want to get all the heatshields like factory itd be tuff. Are you plannin on paying a shop or doing it yourself? A shop could do it im sure but itd be a lot of $ for such little gain. Is your factory y pipe crinked or mandrel bends? Im not sure if only L98s got smooth bends, i know my gf's L03 has a crinkled y pipe. Check my exhaust thread to look at my y pipe...its for a dual cat car though.
