Making a Test Pipe

Has anybody made their own test pipe? What would I need to make a test pipe for a '86 2.8L? What size is the flange side and about how long and what size is the slip side?

This has nothing to do with HP. The Cat is rotting out at the flange. I don't want to go for $100+ to replace it now... That's why I want to put in a test pipe...

You can get a universal cat for $50-60.

Re: Making a Test Pipe

I would just hack off the flange and find the appropriate pipe diameter to slip it into the pipes... You might get a better response in the V6 section, it's probably a 2 1/4" pipe, but it could be different for V6's.

If you do put a test pipe in there, it's certainly not going to pass an NY inspection in any way shape or form... especially down in the city.
