May have problems with neighbors lol

I'm going to be moving in to a gated community and it seems to be very quiet. I dont know if the people there are old or what but its surprisingly quiet. That is why I was thinking of maybe temporarily (1 year or so while I live there) changing out my muffler to a quieter one. Right now I have a Flowmaster catback (800-series I think) and it is still loud when I'm going slow. I wouldnt imagine the noise level being too much for the day, but later in the evening and at night, even the drone while going 5-10mph would be enough to wake up a few neighbors. What is a good, cheap muffler that will be quieter, but wont restrict the exhaust any more than the flowmaster?

I am running a Dynomax Turbo as well after replacing my Flowmaster. I don't know about being better that a Flowmaster but is definitely a more mellow sound....more like a stock sound.

The Flowmaster 70 series is supposed to be a quieter version of the 80 series... I'd probably swap one of them in. If you had two cars I'd say leave it alone, but yeah if this is your only car... people don't want to hear that rumble at 11 O'Clock.

The real question is how much does that hurt performance? I've gotten some pretty decent numbers on a dyno using a Flowmaster 80 series.

F everyone in your neighborhood. Who cares if you have a loud car. I would not worry about it unless you signed something that stated that you could not have a car louder than XX db's or something along those lines. My grandmother lives in a retirement community in NW Pheonix and they never had any problems with my car. You know, the type of community that is super quit and everyone drives around on golfcarts..

I wouldn't worry about the noise in tell someone complains and tells the association. I just moved into a nice quite community also with nothing but old people all around me, there is no way I am going to modify my car to someone else's liking. Its not like I am racing around the nieghborhood so I guess people are going to have to deal with the noise sometimes

I'm in the same kind of neighborhood and I thought everybody would have a problem with my Formula and it turns out, everyother house has some kind of muscle car, harley, boats, dirtbikes and everybodies cool. Might be the same there, just wait and see how people react.
