Headers and the Pollution Pump?

Hello,

I own a 1991 z28, it has the 305 TPI and a 5 speed manual trans. It is was completly stock and original but I have just installed a set of headers and cat back.

What am i suppose to do with the pollution pump? Do you remove it and the idler? If so what do you put back on, if anything. Then how what size fan belt should be installed?

Help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

You're supposed to leave it hooked up and working, per federal law.

I have several belts on my 87 so I just deleted one. Look on ebay for a pulley delete. Also, get a cat without the tube(hi flow) and install, less conspicuous. Doesnt hurt to know a local mechanic to inspect for you. You wii not notice any increase in HP, just cleans up bay alittle. Also you will proably pick up a code on computer.

Here is the idler pulley you can bolt in place of the pump. http://tpiparts.net/inc/sdetail/399

Re: Headers and the Pollution Pump?

Appreciate the help guys.

I found a sticky thread posted on this site by Abubaca 07-24-2004. There is a lengthy discussion on the subject.

Thanks for the link for the pulley TPeye.
