I am toying with the idea of doing a dual exhaust, but the problem is i have dual cats and i need to keep the cats on there (state just does visual inspection and doesnt do the sniffer test). Granted the cats are hollowed out but makes it a PITA for a dual exhaust setup......Anybody have pictures of a dual setup with dual cats....Ive looked and everybody (for the most part) is running LT and getting rid of the cat.
Does anybody think that it would be worth going through the hassle of getting duals off my dual cats in the stock location? or would I be better just getting a since 3.5 inch exhaust.....I kinda dont want to do that because the only muffler I found with a 3.5 inlet has only out outlet.....or does that affect peformance...having one outlet rather than two?
Sorry guys! I know alot of q's!

A single 3.5" i-pipe has the same area as two 2.5" pipes, plus its much easier to install. But a lot of people like dual exhaust because its "cool" and it "sounds better." Its the same with two tailpipes. I dont know of a difference between one tailpipe or two, but two tailpipes "looks better."

With the power your motor in your sig puts out you could run a 3" pipe into a highflow 3" in 3" out cat and then into something like a magnaflow 3" in dual 2 1/2" out tail pipes and it will flow plenty.

well if you would look deeper into my signature 4playta
, those numbers are with a BADLY slipping transmission ( right after the dyno I floored it and it bounced off of 5000 rpms), and a non lockup torque converter. Given those two factors plus my exhaust is restrictive as hell, it will most likely have 30-40 more rwhp and i am toying with the idea of running a NX kit sometime in the future, in which case it would put me well over the 340rwhp mark where 3" is maxed out for performance.

well maybe i am not looking in the right places, but i was hoping to go with Hooker areochamber muffler for my exhuast if it was single pipe with dual outlets (I agree it doesnt look right with a single inch out, but then again I am trying to tuck the tailpipes away so you cant see it from behind the car that well), or for dual 2.5", either dynomax superflow (or soemthing like that) or a single muffler that has dual inlet dual outlet (saw it on another members exhaust).Originally Posted by Kevin91Z
