edelbrock headers 68762 (2 cat) install - no welding?
I am wondering if I can install the edelbrock headers (part 68762) for dual cats in my 89 L98 GTA without welding?
Could I just cut the old pipes near the cats and just use some kind of clamps to hold the new pipes to the cats?
I have the engine apart in the garage and I don't want to drive it to an exhaust place with no exhaust to have it done!
Also, I have UMI subframe braces. Do you see any problems there?
I didn't plan on doing headers but I am installing the Scoggin-Dickey Vortec heads/intake and I didn't realize the EGR provision required welding an EGR bung in the headers, and I don't think I can do this with the stock manifolds.
thanks in advance for any tips!

Dual cat headers dont include the pipes that go to the cats, you only get a short part that connects to the headers.
But you can cut the stock pipes and clamp the two pipes that connect to the headers. They are slip fit and match the stock pipes.
Wen you have the stock pipes and cats on the flor its not to complicated to figure were you need to cut the stock ones.
Edelbrock makes them to fit by using the cut stock pipes. It will line up like stock.
I know because I put the same (except they were ti-tech coated) edelbrock headers on a friends 91camaro z27 recently.

Did you have any major issues with installing these headers with your UMI SFC?
How did they perform after you installed the headers....and how did you get the passenger side headrs installed...from the top or bottom?
Thanks for any other help you can.
