Question about Exhaust manifolds

Transmission: 700R4
Question about Exhaust manifolds

i have an 88 sport couple vert with a L03 TPI 305 engine i just want to know what the lines that seem to be running into the Exaust manifolds are and can they disposed with no problems???...i want to put a full new exhaust system on it...

buy some headers without air tubes and you'll be fine. Headmann shorties are good for a 305 along with the headmann y-pipe and a quality 3" catback from flowmaster, magnaflow, etc etc.

The LO3 is the TBI, not the TPI.
Those lines going into the exhaust manifolds are getting air from the air pump into the exhaust to help with tailpipe emissions. As such, its a violation of federal laws to remove them on a street car.
