Hey i bought a hooker aero chamber muffler for my car. Its a 88 formula 5.0 T.P.I. I took it to the muffler guy and he said he might be able to work it in? But my question is, Is this even the right size? Its 2 1/4 in and 2 1/2 outs. But it looks like i have 2 1/2 in and 2 1/4 outs? Should i have gotten the ones for the fourth gen? id like to know so i can swap it before he starts messing with my muffler thanks in advance. Im keeping everyhing stock for now so no cat back or anything like that it was only 65 dollars total.

Yeah, that is for the puny 2.25" carb and probably also TBI exhausts. You do not want him to "work that in", using an adapter, it will flow horrible. You want a 2.5" in, dual 2.5" out muffler. That muffler you got is for the smaller third gen midpipe - they come in different sizes
Hey thanks for the info. i kept measuring and measuring but it just didnt add up or make sence to put something smaller than what it gots. I really wanted this muffler but oh well guess ill have to go with magnaflow or dynomax.
