delete pipe

I'm working on a 85 camaro that has a 350 in it and have shorty headers on it with a 2 1/2 Y pipe. The intermediate pipe and the rest are all going to be 3" pipes what I'm looking is for a delete pipe I could put in place of the cat. some one told me flowmaster has one. I looked on the web page but could not find one. I do not have a away to get it to a muffler shop to get it done.

Re: delete pipe

I used this on my v6. It's only 2.25 inches though, but just thought I'd throw it out there.

Re: delete pipe

I took my cat off my car and brought it down to the local muffler place over here... They wouldn't remove the cat from my car or install the test pipe in the car, due to legal issues, but they cut me up a piece of pipe as long as the cat with the right flange on one side.

I then brought the new test pipe home, bolted the flange where the back side of the cat was and then put a clamp on the flared front side of the pipe to temporarily hold the test pipe in. I then brought the car down to the muffler place and said "I have an exhaust leak" and they welded the front of the pipe onto the Y pipe.

Re: delete pipe

You will never find a real shop selling cat-removal pipes, as its a violation of FEDERAL laws to remove your catalytic converter, or any other smog device, on a street vehicle. If that shop gets caught, they can be SHUT DOWN, as well as fined large sums of money. You can be fined as well for having no cat on the car.
