Bolt Size?
Alright, well whenever I get my new SFC's and put them in, I found out I have to drop the exhaust.
On my car now is the stock factory 1990 LO3 Exhaust. 2.25" or about, and single cat. Now, the ball and flare flange after the cat is pretty rusty, but the pipe isnt yet. Just the bolt heads and threads and flange. Still solid though. I once tried to disconnect it, but when I started turning the bolt head to loosen it, the head turned, but the threads didnt. I stopped before the bolt twisted enough to shear. That was with PB oil too.
I need to know the size and thread of those bolts that hold the exhaust together. I will go to the hardware store and pick up some new ones. If worse comes to worse, I will cut the bolts off and drill them out, then just use a nut on the backside with a lockwasher to hold the exhaust back together. But I want to get the origional thread bolts incase the flange threads are reusable.
Finally, how is the y-pipe attached to the manifolds? I will need to try and get that off too probably. Thanks.
