Exhaust dilema
Alright guys, I've been wanting to get true duals for the wow factor and once I install the xr288 cam in the firebird I know I am going to need a better exhaust than the edelbrock TES headers and 3" magnaflow catback. I have asked around and no shops want to do the true duals for my car. After talking to some people from my parents hometown, there is a place that did true duals for one person but it cost them around 750 bones and that was only replacing the y pipe, cat and the catback. I am looking to install the hedman 1 5/8 headers and then do the true duals.
So I got to thinking....if I can find a place that will pass me with an exhaust cutout once the hedman LTs are installed, would it be just as effective as running true duals? (not to mention perhaps a bit cheaper?)

Re: Exhaust dilema
I found this on Summit last month. it's a true dual setup that follows the original exhaust path. not sure if it would work with your headers, and you'd have to buy your own mufflers, but it's $164 for the kit. Part# WLK-89009 ; just plug it into the search box. www.summitracing.com

They're made from extra-long, 16-gauge aluminized steel for lasting durability, and the tailpipes exit out the sides. All necessary hardware and instructions are included for a complete installation. Mufflers are not included.
