what should i do

ok i recently bought a 82 camaro that use to have a 6 cyl in it the motor was swapped out to a 350 the front springs were never swapped to the v8 springs so the front of the car sags a little. now it looks like the car sill has the 6 cyl exhaust single cat small dia tubeing . what should i do im kinda broke but this is killing me i really dont see a point of just getting a cat back because the y-pipe dia is fairly small and i dont see what opening up the pipe after the cat is gonna do for me its kind of like bottle necking the exhaust. so id like to get headers too but all the headers im finding with a y-pipe are around $400 thats a lil high just for headers..... any suggestions?????
thanks,
john

That's not a little high for headers, that's what they go for. Save up, sell some stuff, do a side job here or there and get a new exhaust system.

Instead of buying new you could check the classifieds here or ebay. You may find a set for around 250ish. my
