Headers for 3.1 V6 manual transmission?
Headers for 3.1 V6 manual transmission?
Ok, so I have a 91 RS with the 3.1 V6. Problem is that its also a 5-speed. I am unable to find the right side exhaust manifold. Seems it is routed differently than the auto trans because of the bell housing or some crap like that. I have read that i can use the 2.8 v6 headers from the berettas. but again im sure that is for the Auto trans. does anyone know if they will work with my 5-speed? or if there is ANYTHING that will? Help?
**update**
I found the v6 section and the parts listings. The pacesetter 70-1206 says on the application tab that it will fit standard transmission floor shift. I hope im reading this right. maybe id be better off just getting the replacement manifold from the dealer for this price though. Thank you in advance for your help.

Re: Headers for 3.1 V6 manual transmission?
First off, you need to call parts by their correct names
A manifold is the cast iron piece installed from the factory
A header is an aftermarket tubular design
Next, both sides of the 2.8 manifolds are the same for either trans
The only changes are if the AIR tubes are present or not
The slave cyl is what normally interferes with aftermarket headers but since it is on the drivers side, the pass side manifold will never have an issue here
And a final note, the pace setters are the only headers available for the 82-92 2.8/3.1
With this in mind their price, which is dirt cheap compared to 95% of the V8 sets, is a steal
