Y Pipe question

I am in the middle of installing my slp 1 3/4 shorties and was wondering would I benefit from fabing up one of my own 3 inch y-pipe or should I stick with the one that came with it, I believe that a 2.5 came with it.
Thanks
Mitchell

At least modifying the part after the two banks join so it is never smaller than 3" would probably be beneficial. 3" from each collector would not be of any benefit.

Re: Y Pipe question

The collector at the header is 3 inches. The y-pipe they said it was 2.5 but actually its only 2 1/4
