i just finished installing a complete fel-pro gasket set on my car and i have a question is it nessacary to use the exhaust "doughnut" that came in the kit. It is supposed to go on the drivers side exhaust manifold but i couldnt get it to fit and still be able to tighten up the bolts.

 

No donut on the driver's side in the factory exhaust.
