Im looking to make my 1986 iroz z28, 4bbl loud, not blatantly getting a ticket loud but if I want to step on the gas and make it mean I want to be able to. How hard would it be to install an aftermarket exhaust. What kind would you guys reccomend. Im looking to spend 300 or less.

If mpb is runnng the Hooker 2055's, then those alone are more than your budget.

Re: performance exhast
Short of just removing the muffler, it's going to be hard to make your car anything that I'd consider loud with the stock "y-pipe" and cat still in place... all you'll be able to get is a catback for $300. Gut the cat and get a flowmaster american thunder catback... that'd probably be fairly loud. I don't condone gutting the cat, but it's one of the things in your way when trying to make a car louder... and adding an aftermarket cat to the mix just blows apart your budget.

With the stock manifolds and cat, you shouldn't wake the neighbors if you just run a sraight pipe instead of a muffler. It is quiet enough to keep from getting pulled over too.

Re: performance exhaust
well if your on a budget and want some performance then get yourself some pace setter headers 1 5/8 primes and a decent y pipe. i think some pace setter headers come with em, and a decent cat back should all fall in your budget. my headers alone cost over 400 but i got some hookers.
