Hopefully just 2 quick questions about headers.
have a 1985 trans am 305 tpi car, i recently put an exhaust from my fathers 4th gen camaro ss on the car. Ive been looking for some used headers for abit now and was wondering if these would be a good deal and what headers are they. He said they were hedmen but didnt know the part number.http://images.craigslist.org/0115070...570c0060cc.jpg 150 seems high to me. Would these work well for me? Any help is greatly appreciated.

$150 is cheap, whether US or Canadian.
Can't tell what they are. Did you ask him?

Deleting the A.I.R. on an '85 is a matter of taking that belt off.
Those headers may be 1-1/2" primary, 2-1/2" y-pipe. Can't tell for sure in the picture (which seems to have disappeared).

I agree the 1-1/2" primaries are adequate. But, 2-1/2" y-pipe is smaller than stock.

Re: Hopefully just 2 quick questions about headers.
well im getting them for 125 going to pick them up today, so do you think that i will notice any difference with the headers, cat removed, and with my 4th gen exhaust. he said he doesnt have the bolts or gaskets, what should i use for the bolts and the gaskets i can get at canadian tire right or any other automotive place.

Header bolts and standard port header gaskets. Not sure what collector gaskets, probably 2-1/2" 3-bolt.
They might be a slight improvement, but the small y-pipe is going to become the new restriction if it is only 2-1/2".

now iwas thinking of sticking a pipe through the cat so wouldnt that be the bottleneck not the y-pipe. what size fits in a stock cat, im assuming it is stock as it looks quite old. so you do you think its a good idea to get it then?.

Maybe they are Hedmans. Really hard to tell with the small picture.
Try to measure the pipes before you hand over the cash. If the primaries are 1-5/8", they probably are Hedmans. I never liked their y-pipe because it is 2-1/2", but they still are a little better than the factory crimp-bent pipe and "T" before the cat.

3/8" x 3/4" header bolts typically work just fine. You could go 3/8" x 1".
(For the record, it's "Hedman", and they call their product "hedders". Go figure. . .)
