youll have roaches ducking to miss that muffler.
how much clearance do you have there? ant be more than an inch or so?
if you are going to run tailpipes out the back, why not put the muffler in the stock location and save the ground clearance?

Re: 383 HSR with 4inch Dynatech Split flow
well i have about 2-2.5 inches or so at the lowest point from my measurements... thats about as good as its gonna get with this muffler and 4inch pipeing running down stock location.
although its very very low, it works for this car and my purposes. The roads around here arent the greatest and so far i havent had any problems. I havent gone anywhere that could pose a problem yet but the places i've been so far have done well. I'm happy with what i got
remember this isnt a street car anymore...well it is, but not a summer daily driver like it was last year. I can go to alot of places with it but only the most flat places
This system suits my requirements so far. I wont know for sure until i get to drive it more and more.
But i have 2 main reasons why i built this system the way its shown in the pics
1: This is the main reason. I like dual outlet tips. I built my last system like this that i just sold a few months ago.

I wanted that look again and decided i wasnt gonna do true duals. the only way to do this would be run muffler in the "I" pipe area in the driveshaft tunner region. Then split it over the axle with a mini ypipe like i had in the pic above.
The alternative is to run a spintech like the mufflex systems have. 4inch inlet 3inch outlets i think it was..crossflow style like flowmaster 80 series.

This is last alternative before doing true duals with some kind of tube muffler in the I pipe region as well... doubtful the duals will quiet it down as much as it is now tho... fitting two 3inch round mufflers will be harder than one 4 inch round. I just fear the spintech will NOT flow near enough for this car and will hurt my power which i dont want to do, even tho it will be much quieter
2: Sound. I wanted to try and get a higher pitched tone. I've read a theory that having longer lengths of pipe after the muffler will get rid of the bassy sound and improve pitch/tone to the higher levels. I'd love to make it sound like a lsx vette. Lsx vettes dont sound the same as fbodys with same setups and one guy came up with the theory that length of pipe after the muffler and before the muffler makes the difference. So i decided to try it and so far i dont think it really made more pitch. I contribute that to the motor specs/cam design/etc Possibly the muffler design too, its just not gonna make that sound
reason 1 was much more important tho than 2. 2 was just a bonus if i could pull it off

Re: 383 HSR with 4inch Dynatech Split flow
Just to update i switched to the dynomax ultraflo and added my tail pipes. Pics are in other threads but the sound is much more on my level
quieter indeed but still sounds very nice
soon as the car is running abit better *having some problems again* i'll get another vid at idle and maybe some revs
