3 inch pipe

well i have stock 91 rs with just a flowmaster muffler welded on the stock Y 2.5 inches pipe. i would like to know is it possible to weld a 3 inches pipe just where the headers end at the tip of Y to the muffler. will it make any difference.

Re: 3 inch pipe

If you plan on keeping your car a 305 I would just stick with the 2.5 inch pipe. .

Re: 3 inch pipe

im talking abt the pipe where the two pipes coming from headers are joined to form a Y. i want to put a 3 inche pipe from that joint to the muffler. basically the Y setup will be same only the long pipe will be of 3 inches. is it ok to do like this and my car is totally stock

Re: 3 inch pipe

if you do it after the y pipe that would be fine. You will see small gains but not much on a 305.
