trouble with headers please help

Transmission: T56
Axle/Gears: 3.83
trouble with headers please help

i have a 86 TA and have hooker shorty headers, i wanted to get someone to install them but the local shop wants 275 dollars because he said the engine has to be lifted n all this crap, is this true? can i not just unbolt the exhaust manifolds and bolt in the headers? please help, thanks alot@!

Do a search on installing headers, see what you think after you've read up a bit.

By doing it your self, you will learn alot about your car. How things work, what goes where and when your done you'll get a good feeling that YOU DID IT! but... its a pita to do this swap and yes the motor has to get jacked up, jack up your car on four jack stands for better working space and dont forget about spraying some penetrant to loosen up everything it will make it alot easyer
