I was at the car show yesterday and I seen this guy had a trans am w/ LS1 he was running headers to y pipe to 3" exhaust then to a magnaflow muffler to dual 3.5" tips, no cats. All the other magnaflows i've ever heard were too quiet (but had great tone, just quiet) but this thing SCREAMED when he stepped on it, the idle wasn't too loud but when he stepped on it it screamed. I realize you could put anything on an ls1 and its going to sound awesome but still. Anyone got any experience with loud magnaflows??? I have to ditch my blowmaster it sounds terrible. I want something louder.

 

Magnaflows aren't even quiet with a cat. I used to run just a Magnaflow and it was way to loud for me, added a cat and now there is a nice tone. Its not quiet but not obnoxously loud either. There isn't much to a Magnaflow muffler, they are straight through and loud.

 

I have the magnaflow cat back set up with 3" piping and at idle it's deep but not loud, can hear a rumble inside the house whenever I'm swapping cars in and out of the garage.

But yes, it does scream when you "give'r". My friend heard me leaving work when I was going down the onramp to the highway, and where he has a smoke is right next to it. He heard me before I was past him, he told me the next day it was loud enough to think "holy crap what was that" and then he saw me go by hehe!

A bit loud for my liking at that amount of push, but you can't argue it's fun value.

 

I just got the stainless magnaflow cat back put on right now by mufflerman for almsot 600 bucks. The guys that put it on did an amazing job. The looks alone are awesome and the tone is so great, no more drone. I wish it was louder when you stomped on it but other than that its great so far. 100% better than the flowmaster

Video is a bit quiet. I do know what you mean with the LS1 however. Friend's T/A just about makes me turn away if I'm behind it, but I can't because it sounds too good.

 

yea i have the 4th gen kit and its not loud but not quiet at idel and i think it sounds amazing when you stomp it
