I have a 84' camaro with 1 5/8 headers, and where the Y-Pipe and
the catalytic converter meet, that part of the exhaust always hangs down
low, and my Y-pipe cracked i guess bottomed out one day, I am working on putting a new y-pipe and cat back system on but i was wondering if anything can be done to be able to mount exhaust around y-pipe and cat so it
sits higher

 

There is an exhaust hanger that connects to the cat. Is yours still there?

 

yea mabye your missing a bolt in it or its falling off/gone

 

yea i still have the exhaust hanger there - i think with my new y -pipe we kept messing with it and got it to hang higher, and plus a extra bolt in the hanger helped
