exhaust problem

exhaust problem

so i was driving today on the highway when i heard a big bang and my car sounded great for some reason the pipe that connects the cat broke so now i have a little problem but a good thing that happened because now i can remove my cat lol i was wondering if this would work if i unbolted the cat and put a pipe connecting the pipes where the cat was if u understand what im saying the cat broke off the pipe so i unbolt the cat and put a pipe connecting the two pipes and no more cat and any1 know if this would sound good i have a 350 carbed with edelbrock shorty headers and a dynomax muffler with 3 inch piping and i was just gonna clamp the pipe on too any suggestions

That happened to me awhile back, and i just drove it that way for about a month. To answer your question yes you can do that, but if you need to leave it on you could just gut it for appearance sake. And yes it would sound good.
