Re: shorty header question

You buy headers with A.I.R. system connections. Do you need to stay smog compliant?

Yes you do. Its a federal law that says you cannot remove, disable, or tamper with your emissions control devices on a street vehicle in all 50 United States. It doesnt matter if you state doesnt do testing, its still a federal law.

You don't have to have it after your vehicle is a certain age... I think. Like 25 years old?

Re: shorty header question

kevin91z, is correct. A cop in a really bad mood could give you a hefty ticket. In some states, such as mine, (AZ) they can impound the vehicle for it. Just convert your headers, if they do not have air tube provisions. The AIR system might rob you of 2 HP (And thats being conservative!)
