Ok, here is my story. I dont know much about exhaust systmens but here is my idea, I have and edelbrock catback system on my car, sounds like ****, and not as loud as I want it. Is it possable to take the crappy edelbrock muffler off and put the new flowmaster 44 in place of that?
Will it fit/work?
Will my crappy sound be enhanced at all?

Yes you could replace the muffler, but you wouldn't have dual outlets any more (if you even do now). I think the Super 44 would be shorter in length than the Edelbrock one though. Just be sure to get the same configuration that you have now. center in/side out, side in/center out....

I will also say this, I've got two 2 1/4" Super 44's on my K5 Blazer. Dual exaust, no cats or H/X pipe. It is loud, very loud. Sounds awesome, but it's loud. There is no way to get around the fact that it is loud. Even at idle it is farly noisy, let alone at 5000rpms. Going down the road there is a considerable drone too. If I were to put a new system on, I wouldn't go for these mufflers. Not that I don't like the sound, they are just loud. Forget about hearing the stereo with the top off (ok that doesn't happen anyways, but still). I've owend race mufflers that were quieter. Did I mention that they were loud? When they said "Most aggressive, deep sounding 4" case muffler ever built" they weren't kidding.

That being said, I don't know how they would sound with more air flowing though them. I'm sure the cat would help quiet it down some too.

 

It looks like on their website, that they have the same exact configuration as the edelbrock on mine now. An I do have dual outlets now.
