New Exhaust??

I am in need of a cat back. I am not running any cat and I want it to be some what quiet. I am also going to be running a 400 in the near future. I would like to keep it in reasonable price. I was looking at the Hooker system, does anyone have any other thoughts.

On Summit they have two different Hooker systems but they say they are the same, but the price is different. What is the difference??

Thanks

Re: New Exhaust??

Both are the same. The only differences I saw was one says 5.0 and the other said 5.7, but they are both the same size, material, and muffler. Make sure you're getting one for a 3th gen f-body, not a 4th gen f-body.

Re: New Exhaust??

I guess I should get the 5.7 one for more flow if I am running the 400?? But I have a 5.0 now.

Both catbacks are the same. If you look at all the info on both pages, they both have the same info. You could also ask a rep. at Summit about both of the catbacks.

Re: New Exhaust??

Thanks

Re: New Exhaust??

The two hooker catbacks on summit are different.

HOK-16823HKR has a 3-inch flange where the I-pipe connects to the cat.

HOK-16820HKR has a 2.5-inch flange in that spot.

So, if you are running a 3-inch cat, get the 16823. 2.5-inch cat, 16823. Alternatively, you could get the 3-inch system and a bigger cat as well.

Other than this, they are exactly the same. I recommend these exhausts highly, I own one of each of the above systems. If you look at the pics closely you can see the differences I am talking about.
