Header Pictures
I bought a set of used Edelbrock shorty headers and half way thru the install they seemed to not fit. It looked like I was going to have clearance issues with the block itself. Does anyone have any pictures of shorty headers installed?? Please post. I am working on my 91 Z-28 350 ci. TPI.

Re: Header Pictures
I don't have photos of shorties, but you might want to check the part number and verify that your headers are actually for your car.

Re: Header Pictures
Unless your motor mounts are really bad, that could happen. That's another thing you might want to change in the future also

Re: Header Pictures
My part number is Edelbrock 6872 and i've been readind and they are listed for up to 90 model year, not 91 or 92. Is this correct? Anyone using TES 6872 in their 1991?

Re: Header Pictures
The headers are listed to fit '86-'90 305-350 cars with a single 3" slip fit cat. Your 350 car should be a dual cat but the headers themselves should fit without problems.

Re: Header Pictures
Most every time I've had header fitment issues its been caused by worn motor mounts and transmission mounts. Either of those can throw the engine off just enough to cause the headers not to fit. Thats what I would check first.
Like Mongoose said, those headers should bolt up to any engine in any year of 3rd gen F body. That part doesnt change over the years. If the headers are made for either a single cat and you have dual cats or the other way around you might have to mod the exhaust pipes a bit, but the headers should fit the motor.

Re: Header Pictures
engine BLOCK clearence to BODY clearence is 99.9999% of the time , caused by worn out/sorry motor mounts . a 20 yr. old hunk of rubber does not hold the same shape or strength as it did when new . mounts can become worn/bent over the years . unless a frame has been hit and/or tweaked for some reason the mounts are the problem . good luck .
