Exhaust Tips
I maybe in need of some exhaust tips. The car was up on a hoist a few days ago and I noticed black soot and maybe even a bit of scorching on the bumper. I may need to extend the exhaust pipes out a little farther.
Summit Racing has a good selection and a method of searching for exhaust tips. The main technical issues are inlet and outlet size; resonator and the material the tip is constructed out of. Then there is the styling and colour, which is totally subjective and dependent on personal taste.
What are some things to consider when purchasing exhaust tips? Do resonators in exhaust tips increase back pressure and affect horsepower?

Re: Exhaust Tips
effect back pressure? to some .... (exstent, xstent? lol) amount im sure they do but is it enough to be concerned about i really dont think so. as long as they are as big or bigger then the pipe there wont be much effect on back pressure. that is just my thought...and why isnt there spell check on this board?

Re: Exhaust Tips
I am only getting tips because my current exhaust is depositing soot on the bumper and maybe even scorching it. The bumper needs painting as someone hit it and I do not want a newly painted bumper scorched.
