Intermittent backfiring...
Hey gang. Well I finally got my exhaust system installed and everything seemed fine in the beginning. But now there is like an intermittent backfiring, and I noticed some smoke coming from the catalytic converter where it hooks up to the current exhaust system. I also changed out the spark plugs with NGK 6630's and then I changed a couple of spark plug wire boots.
Now I'm wondering, if I accidentally swapped a spark plug wire, like switching 3 and 5? Would that be a factor? The check engine light doesn't come on. I believe I hooked back the emission hoses to the proper place, on the motor.
Any suggestions gang? I'm pretty stumped right now.

Crossed spark plug wires won't trip the SES light.
If you're not sure if you crossed some wires, trace them down. If you did cross those two particular wires, it would run pretty rough.

five7kid! you were right it was the wires. Looks like the driver side 1,3,5,7 were all correct and the passenger side only #4 was right, Numbers 2,6,8 were wrong. Ouch.
So now everythings fine and she's kickin asphault!
