I just put this kit on my TA. Goes on really easy. Not very loud at all. Has a nice low rumble to it. I'm comparing it to my 95 that has a gutted cat and cutout though. Even with a gutted cat,shorty headers it still sounds good. Excellent price too. Here's a vid. with a lt1 though not a tpi.

first of all they are not stainless - magnaflow is stainless.
they both come in 3 inch pipes but the hooker goes down to 2 1/2 and mag goes to 3 1/2 tips.
the mag is ok for 305 and 350 - so if you upgrade you dont have to change them. the hooker is only for the 305. here is what jegs says - http://www.jegs.com/p/Hooker/744803/10002/-1 - look at the sizes and use.

i just ordered the stainless system - the mag.
dont get me wrong i like hooker headers, got a set of 2055.
but im going with mag cat and cat-back system.

 

you just bought the same exhaust set i just bought 2055s mag cat and cat back. have you gotten any of it put in yet. cat back on back order. got everything else though i love it.
