88 305 TPI full system advice

I have searched for this information here and basically am more confused than when I stareted. Looking for advice on a full system.

Stock 1988 IROC 305TPI 5spd. I would like to remove the air pump, add headers, punch out the cat, and add a new cat back system. I like flowmaster. I like it pretty loud and this is not an every day driver. Can anyone advise on decently priced components that will jive together? Header pipe sizes, etc. Any problems arise with removing that air pump? If it matters, I'm also looking to do the SFC's (weld in) and strut tower brace. Any advise on which of those are beter than others?

Many thanks.....Always wanted one of these cars. Now that I have one.....I just want to get it right the first time.

Search first in the Stickies up above.
This is what i got (not installed). Hooker 1 5/8" shorty headers, 2055's come with a great Y, test pipe with cut out, then magnaflow cat back.
There is so much info on this subject its not even funny.

Thanks for the reply. I've been searching through the stickies.....but it seems like there's a lot of options out there.

Quick question, Is there any benefit to shorties vs long tubes?
