how to get raspy sound?

hey guys im building a 5.0(H/C/I) in my bird...but i love raspy exhuast...what kind of combo can i get this sound from..i do have edelbrocks headers in the garage to start

Cam and compression are the main contributors to 'rasp'. Lots of compression and a matching cam will do it.

I have to ask...Why do you want a "raspy" sound? When i think raspy i think of trucks with straight pipes IMO. I personally like a really deep tone, sounds more muscular.

lol..idk...i cant answer why..i just like it lol....deep sounds nice to tho

Hey man its your car and if you like raspy I'll respect that! Hmm idk how to get a raspy sound though. Some people on here say a 80 series is kind of raspy, but i've never heard one in real life.

I was trying to do the opposite as you, on my ls1 it was raspy as hell with long tubes ory and a borla catback with no plate. Now its deep as zero rasp with the same LT's 2.5" H pipe and dumped dynomax bullets
