Is 3inch catback too big???? help!!
hey i have a 305 tbi stock except for an open element filter and a 2 1\4 inch dynomax catback. I have noticed a power loss after installing this system and i was thinking that it might be to small. Also i can barely hear the exhaust, i do want a nice sound!! would a 3ich flowmaster system be a better choice and will i lose or gain power?????
thanks!!
thanks!!

3in would be better. Most people run at least that, but flowmaster's are known for being a bit restrictive. If you have the money I'd go magnaflow. I think it cost a little more than the flowmaster.

Go with the 3". It's not going to matter which exhaust system you choose as far as power goes. Buy the one you think sounds best.

I'd go with the 3" if you have the money to purchase another catback. I can't remember what size the stock exhaust was, but I don't think that kit you have now is much bigger. As for what brand, just look around for sound clips/videos to see which exhaust sounds best to you.

What did you need to bump it for?
The people who responded said to go with the 3" system, and in my sticky post "What's the best exhaust? What are the best headers?" I clearly say to go with a 3" system of your choosing. 3" is never overkill on a thirdgen V8.

I bought my Hooker Catback before the price increases and I loved the sound. I didnt get much of an increase on power qith the TPI but it was 100% better than what was on it.
