my buddy just gave me some shorty headers off his T/A and theyre going in my 90 camaro rs tbi with ac. since i cant use the stock y pipe im going to but the hedman y pipe from summit part number 17470. ive read some posts and they say y pipes are different and made for different headers but in the description it says it will fit standard shorty style headers. Does anyone know if this y pipe will work. also is there anyone that could give me instructions on putting headers on like what i have to do i have ac and the best location to get at the bolts? also any parts i need to remove, thanks guys id rlly apprecitate an answer

 

What year is his T/A? You can only use 82-92 thirdgen headers. Other year f-body headers will not fit.

And unless those headers are Hedmans, then no the Hedman y-pipe will not fit.

 

his T/A is an 87 and the y pipe says it will fit hedman headers and standard shorty headers on thirdgens

 

That y-pipe still sucks. MAC makes a couple of better ones. Either way, you'll still run into problems. Good luck.

Think about this: How can one y-pipe fit Hedman headers AND every other set of shorty headers, at the same time?
