Its probably been answered before but here goes.

If you cut the cat off will it throw a code? Will there be a performance enhancmnt or decline?

leave it alone. Its illegal to remove it irregardless of if you have inspections or not.

If you feel the need to upgrade, you can get a good high flow cat that will keep the car legal and keep the exhaust from stinking

Thank you. I was just wondering if it would. I might do it if I decide to keep the car just to get a better sounding exhaust.

Another option, and perhaps a better one, would be to buy a cat back or at the very least a new muffler.

I bought my camaro a month ago and it didn't come with a cat but I am thinking about putting one on just to make it legal. I don't have emissions here in arizona but like you guys say its still illegal to take it off.
