couple of header questions

I have the 2055's and is it a must to relocate the alternator bracket? Or can it fit without doing so? If it can't, what's a good alternate position for it?

Is it a wise choice to use a spark plug socket to remove/install the spark plugs? What's the difference between that and a normal deep socket? My shop teacher told us once but I forgot.

Lastly, I bought the percy's dead soft gaskets, but what I didn't notice was that they're round port, and my headers/car is square port, will these work? create leaks?

Thanks alot for any helps guys.

Re: couple of header questions

on the alt. bracket i used original mounting bolt , put on a stack of 3/8 washers , built it out to original length . bolted up bracket , it worked . same for A/C bracket . few days later got some 3/8 I.D. S/S tube , cut to length , replaced washers . worked for me !!! on spark plug socket , most are 6 point sockets with a rubber insert to protect plug ceramic . a 12 point socket can be used , but extra care must be used to protect ceramic . on the gaskets , get the right ones . a few installation tips . chase all threads on cylinder head with a tap & clean same . use good quality bolts . make sure header flanges are flat & smooth . torque/tighten from center outward . test fit all before final torque . good luck .

Alright, do you think it's okay if I just leave the washers or should I replace them like you did?

The mechanic where I work never uses a spark plug socket and he's never made a mistake so as long as I'm careful I should be okay?

I bought the gaskets off of jegs, should I just send them back?

I have the stage 8 locking bolts so no problem there.

Thanks alot uncletom
