"over exhausting" i guess its called
i believe it is possible but just double checking. say i have a stock 215 hp 350 and put hooker super comp headers on it will that actually do the motor bad? sticking with that stock 350, is a complete 3" cat back too much for it also and will that decrease hp? is 2.5" more reasonable.

Absolutely not. Read all the pages of the backpressure sticky. I have hooker 1 5/8s shorties, 3" Y, 3" cut-out, and 3" cat back. The factory Y on my iroc is 3", so y not go 3" all the way back.

Your very right Stephen. Just like a long water pipe, you need to tighten up the diameter the longer it is to keep good water velocity. BUT, IMO i think the 305 needs room to breath, also if I ever upgrade my exhaust is pretty good for some high hp.
Re: "over exhausting" i guess its called
i went with hooker headers(1 5/8) and a hooker y pipe. i went with a magnaflow catback. im sure it is hurting my little carbed 305. but i know that i am going to use it well when i get my vortec engine built and installed/
