FINALLY! 3 inch exhaust finished.*PICS*

Finally i took the time to build my new exhaust.

My boss got me the 3 inch and 2 1/2 inch pipes and bends from stainless steel for an absolute bargain!

i welded the y-pipe with a cheap migwelder, but i couldnt get the gaspowdered wire anymore, so i bought a 2nd hand TIG welder from my welding-course teacher.

Much cleaner welds..except for the y-pipe.

It was a pain in the hiney to get the y-pipe to fit the shorty headers.

The muffler isnt atached yet, so is the middle section.

the last weld in the middle i have to weld it under the car, or else i cant get it over the rear axle.

I had a sidepipe for 2 years, it looked like crap and it sounded like crap.

I might make a tailpipe to it with 2 x 3 inch pipes next to eachother, maybe.

looks good, but why did you go with a "T" pipe rather than a "Y" pipe, thats going to kill performance.

Re: FINALLY! 3 inch exhaust finished.*PICS*

yeah, well, it was a mayor b*tch to get the pipe exactly where it should be , ofcourse it has to connect to both headers at the right spot.

BUT! Now im looking at it again, i think im gonna change it.

Im not happy with it after all.

i will do some cutting and welding and make it an "y" design.

Its easy to do it now, then afterwards...

Thanks for asking me that question!

pics will follow

AND, yes over the axle are all 90 bends, it follows the underbody nicely.

Thinking of making a manual or elec. cutout right before the muffler....

just looking at this..

are your header colllector pipes all 3"?? "might" be loosing velocity or torque down low with that.. a 2 1/2" dual Y pipe to a 3" midsection might yeild better results if this is going on a 350 TPI,

Aside from the T and the little tailpipe dump thing, it looks like a very well done setup. I would tuck the tailpipe up under the bumper and hide it. More classy that way.
