New exhaust help
I want to put a flowmaster muffler on my camaro, the car has the stock exhaust and I want to keep it stock except for the muffler. Do I need a welder to put on a new muffler? I don't have one so is there anyway I can do it w/out welding it. and also when I cut it off do I cut the stock muffler up at the casing? please help

Re: New exhaust help
Anyone that sees the opportunity to correct me please do.
I'm pretty sure most mufflers have to be welded, I'm not aware of any that are "Slip fit", I suppose you could sort of jury rig a set up, the intermediate pipe from the cat to the muffler could be bigger than the muffler inlet and you could perhaps exhaust clamp it down, I doubt this would be very effective though.
I don't think it would be very expensive at all to have a muffler shop weld it in. I'd say definitely less than $50.

you can deffinately clamp exhaust together! all a shop would do is wxpans the pipe to fit over one another and then weld. sometimes the mufflers are made to slip over lets say a 2 1/2 pipe. i put a flowmaster 10series on my buddys f150 and we used clamps.

Re: New exhaust help
you could definetly put it on with clamps from Auto Zoo or a muffler shop, but if you have about 50 bucks lying around take it to the muffler shop and see what they can do, or if you have a welder accesible then that would be best, if your know what your doing.
