How do you wire up a 3 wire heated o2 sensor to a single wire connection in the wiring harness?

Signal wire goes to the 1 wire connector, heater ground goes to ground, and the heater wire goes on some IGN on circuit.

 

Or you can wire the heated wire up to a manual switch, like jeff91RS said, it's best to wire it up to a switch in the ignition so that it will always be heated while the car is running. But it's an option to wire it up to a manual switch.

 

Ok i got it. which wire is wat though, i got 2 whites and a black. i know the black is the ground. but wat are the 2 white wires for? middle white is single wire and the other white for heated?

Install the sensor and check which wire gives you an 02 reading and that is the one that you need to connect to the factory connector.

As far as the heater circuit, I would wager that you could hook either of the two remaining wires to ground and then the other to the ign feed or manual switch. It is just a simple heating element, nothing digital about it so that should work. If you are left with a black and a white after you figure out which wire is the signal then you can assume the black is ground tho.

 

well i planned on putting the heater wire to a key on sourse and ground to a ground obviously and the connect the o2 connector to the factory connection

That's way too expensive plus the wire is very short. There is a kit you can get from most auto parts places that is a universal heated o2. Comes with the connector and everything you need for around $60-70. I looked it over the other day while I was there and I think it could be the best option.

 

mine costed 52 bucks from autozone and im cuttin the connector off and runnin my wires with extendtions and wat not

 

The key to any GM part is finding out who there supplier is. You can get the same OE part without the GM box for about 40 % cheaper. It's funny I've ordered parts with the suppliers name on the box and the parts come with the GM # stamped right on them for half the cost at the dealer.

NTK (NGK's sensor division)supplied the oxygen sensors for GM to most of our cars in the 80's through mid 90's, switched over to Denso with the LS1.

A little research goes along way to help saving money and getting the exact OE parts.
