Backfire

Backfire

it there any way to stop the backfiring on my rs? i think its blown up like two mufflers, and i dont wanna replace it if its just gonna get blown out again.

it backfires when i let off the gas at pretty much any rpm (but louder with higher rpms)

Do the easy fix first and check your ignition timing. If your ignition timing is good, then check your cam timing. I'd start there.

yes - the exhaust is the symptom - you need to fix the cause, which is a tuning issue of some kind. Check the basics, ignition, timing, fuel, spark, a/f ratio, etc.

You need 3 things for a backfire, heat, fuel, oxygen - You are getting excess fuel, but you need air to ignite that fuel, leaking exhaust system will cause the ignition.. Or maybe you do not run a tailpipe?
