How the heck to i get the exhaust matched back up??

I just dropped in a freshly rebuilt 350 into my 87 TA, and i used the original exhaust manifolds so that i would not have to do any exhaust work. But i cant get the exhaust pipes to line up to the exhaust manifolds. The passenger side will not come up far enough to bolt on, seems to be catching on something. The driver side however lines right up no problem??? Do i need to get the passenger side on first, and then try the drivers side?? the exhaust is all this car is waiting on to be rolling again. please help!!!

actually, i cant even get the y-pipe on the passenger side up past the starter, its caught on it. im thinking i need to go ahead and drop the driver side and jack up the passenger side till it gets just about in place??? idk, but this is giving me fits. especially since its all original factory equipment.

the stock y-pipe should slide right up into place without jacking up the motor, any pics?
