ever tried a Summit x pipe?
has anybody ever tried the kit off of summit for a true dual setup on a thirdgen?
i am doing an lt1 t56 swap, and i want to run 2.5 duals, and this writeup popped up on one of the lt1 sites i was looking at- seems to work very well on 4th gens, but would it be reasonable to try and modify for an 85?

got the 3" one on mine. love it, great quality. changed the RPM band a bit 2500 on up is when u can tell and the tone is wayyyy different.
i have headman LTs, 3" header turndowns feeding into the 3" summit xpipe and thats connected straight to the 3" force mufflers with turndowns. alot lighter than the stock stuff and gave me a bit more power on the top end.
that is basically the same setup i have. i mounted mine alittle different, bolted right to the floor where the rear seats where.

Re: ever tried a Summit x pipe?
you should be fine. but it will take some creativeness to get the clearance u need. i knotched the stock subframes and had the exhaust run right up against the floor. i had already installed SFC so i already reinforced the car before knotching the frame. running the exhaust over the frame will hurt ground clearance ALOT!
